50th Anniversary Guestbook Scrapbook
Hi Digital Scrapbook Friend,
Christmas is over and the new year is only a couple more days away…
Hope all your scrapbook gifts were as big a hit as the ones we gave were. My mom and dad’s 50th wedding anniversary party album and guest book was a smashing success! We took all the comment cards that we had at the door and scanned them in to digital form. We then combined them with the photos we took of the family and friends that went with each note. We put it all together in an 8×8 book so it was easy to store and travel with.
Here’s one of the finished computer scrapbook pages so you can see what I’m talking about.

This is my mom and her niece… Can you tell what a great time she had?
The look on my moms face and the smiles, even from my dad, said it all. The perfect memory of a very treasured moment in time.
Now’s the time to start planing your gifts for next year. If you know of any special events coming up, now is the time to plan ahead and to get the note cards and photographers (even if that’s you) prepped with what you plan to do.
Don’t forget the photo’s of where the event took place and photos of the party favors and decorations.
Before I forget, Kathy wants me to let you know that she’s removing a few more of the old GIF format scrapbook sets by January 15th:
12×12 sets:
winter 22 thru 25.
8.5×11 sets:
Winter 19 thru 21.
You are going to love the new sets she has for the middle of the month…
Speaking of new sets…
Kathy just added:
3 new baptism sets, 6 Christmas sets and 3 winter scrapbook papers sets to the 8.5×11 and 12×12 members areas.
She also just added 13 new autumn stationeries to the FREE www.1-computer-stationery.com site with Autumn 451 thru 463. Don’t forget, thise make great digital scrapbook background and journaling pages too.
Now, it’s time for you to start planning your next scrapbook project.Â
Just a little planning up front and a few notes or a simple checklist will help you make sure that you don’t miss any of the really important parts.
- Photos of Location
- Photos of Party Favors and Decorations
- Blank White Note Cards for guests to leave comments and best wishes on (white scans easier and can be made transparent to fit any final background setting)
- Dark Felt Tip or Acid Free Gell Pens – Dark Colors scan better.
- Don’t forget to get plenty of candid photos to go with all the family and friends poseing…
- Note pad to get everyones names – Don’t trust your memory with distant reletives and old friends.
- Your notes on who was wearing what and who was with who will help with group and candid photo identification later.
- Make sure that the people taking the photos aren’t tasked with other details such as food prep or cleanup. Some of the best shots will happen when you are not there and will be missed.
Those are just a few of the things (some we found out the hard way about) that you need to plan for. I’m sure with a little thought on your part, you can come up with a few more from your past experiences too.
If you do have other ideas, don’t hesitate to leave your comments here for others to learn from too.
Now, it’s time for you to put ink to paper and get the pre-planning done.
By the way, if your new years projects include a new 2008 photo calendar, don’t forget that you can get your hands on our no_costfree photo calendar templates at: www.FreeScrapbookTraining.com along with lots of photo greeting cards template downloads too.
Happy New Year,
Kathy and Wes
